My Prediction Day Has Come and is Fixing to Leave

By Robert H. Kelly

Unless the Houston Astros go into mega extra innings tonight, and Craig Biggio goes 10 for 10, my prediction for tonight's game being the venue for his 3000th hit is going to be incorrect.

I have a good idea that the above scenario will not happen. However, I still think there is a small chance he will not get it at home.

Manager Phil Garner can choose to "rest" him on this extended road trip. But the fact that Biggio is hitting the ball pretty well lately, he could get hit 3000th hit against the Rangers.

It would be nice for him to get it in the home stand against the Colorado Rockies.

Either way it will be a tremendous achievement for Biggio and the Astros.

Now if they can add the National League Rookie of the Year Award for Hunter Pence, that might salvage this season for the Astros and their fans.
